Animation

Here is all of my work I have done in AfterEffects and PremierePro. Each projects varies in ideas and goals. I will show early work of mine to show how much I have grown throughout my education. At the bottom will be what I believe is my most advance video to date, it is arguably my favorite thing I have made in my education at UMD. ALSO IMPORTANT TO TURN DOWN YOUR VOLUME BEFORE PRESSING PLAY all the videos have sound.

Soccer Goal

This was my first project using any animation platform. I had already created gifs for other projects, but now I was learning how all the different controls worked in AfterEffects. I then learned how to use audio in PremierePro, but I was not very good at recording it as you will hear in this video. I wanted to include it just to see where I started, I will say I did have some fun commentating on this with one of my roommates.

Moving Collage

This film had a little more going on in it. It was my first time ever using green screen, so I wanted to include it. My goal was the longer you look at the screen the more things you will notice about the piece. I combined lots of stock images, live film, and my own illustrations when working on this. I view this as a milestone for me working with audio as well, as I finally was able to overlap different audio while still keeping the quality of each individual file.

Rotoscope

This was my first time using only illustration for a film. To create a true rotoscope film I fist recorded myself doing a couple soccer tricks. I then put the video into Photoshop and broke up every individual frame into its own still. By using a Wacom tablet I then carefully illustrated out each individual movement my body made. I set the speed to 8 fps (frames per second) and then added a background color and audio (I know house of the rising sun is overused).

The Final Meal

This project was a final for my most recent animation class. We all had to create a story based around “Your last meal”. I wanted to create an almost interview like scene, where a character I created would be talk about what he would like (it my last meal choices). After the first set of credits the story continues for an expected/unexpected twist. This was my first time creating a lip sync in my films.

Title Sequence

This film is what I considered to be my greatest animated work… so far. For this project we were assigned to recreate a title sequence of an already existing show/movie in a new way. To make the assignment more difficult we were told we weren’t allowed to use any film from the shows, so it was either stock film, or illustration. I chose to do illustration not knowing how much work it would be to create all the objects and characters in only 3 weeks. This project pushed me more than anything I have had to do yet, but that is why it has been the most rewarding for me. I chose the tv Suits for my show.
