Vovo's Papo Seco

Vovó’s Papo Seco is a package design project inspired by Portuguese food culture and dedicated to my grandmother, whose name we spell and pronounce as “Vovo” within our family. Reimagining the traditional papo seco bread as a cracker, the design blends personal heritage with cultural symbolism. The packaging features patterns inspired by Lisbon’s azulejos tiles, referencing history, craftsmanship, and everyday life in Portugal, while the logo incorporates a rooster silhouette within each “O” of Vovo’s—a nod to the iconic symbol of Portuguese identity and folklore. Together, the typography, pattern, and iconography create a brand rooted in tradition, memory, and family.
